Ganth Gobhi Masala (Knol Khol Or Kohlrabi Masala) is a simple sabzi to make. This recipe is very easy and quick to serve. You can try this delicious Sabzi with Roti or Paratha.
Knol Khol / Turnip Cabbage / Kohlrabi is packed with minerals and vitamins. It is also high in dietary fibre. This bulbous vegetable is quite hardy and belongs to the cabbage family.

Ingredients For Ganth Gobhi Masala
250 grams Kohlrabi/ Nol khol/ Ganth Gobhi
½ cup onions diced
1 teaspoon ginger chopped
5 cloves of garlic
2 tomatoes diced
1 tablespoon coriander chopped fine
½ teaspoon jeera (cumin)
¼ teaspoon haldi (turmeric powder)
1 teaspoon dhania (coriander powder)
¾ teaspoon chilli powder
½ teaspoon roasted jeera powder (cumin powder)
½ teaspoon garam masala
Salt to taste
2 tablespoon oil
½ teaspoon garam masala
Directions For Ganth Gobhi Masala
- Peel and cut the ganth gobhi in cubes of medium size. Wash and set aside.
- Grind onion, ginger, garlic and tomatoes to a coarse paste.
- Heat oil in a pan; add cumin and let it crackle.
- Add onion paste and saute on low heat till golden brown.
- Add all the dry masalas except garam masala and saute till oil starts to separate.
- Now add the Kholrabi, salt and stir.
- Transfer this in a pressure cooker; add 1 cup water to it and cook till 2 whistles. Switch off the heat and let the pressure release.
- Open the lid, add the garam masala and cook till the gravy is thick.
- Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with roti or paratha.
