A super simple pasta dish that has loads of flavour and smells amazing! You will be a fan of this from the start! It has become a favourite in my family, including my kids.The frying of the garlic and then the Al dente pasta being tossed in butter/olive oil. Oh my gosh! Don’t be scared off by the amount of garlic used, it caramelises and sweetens as it is fried in butter.
The best part about this Butter Fried Garlic Pasta is it results in a glorious plate of pasta that is deeply flavoured and full of scrumptious texture. As signified in the name, this recipe brings together garlic, oil, and Al dente pasta to create this dish. To finish, I like to add a handful of fresh Parmigiana and fresh parsley.
Substitutes to make this dish
- Pasta: I have used farfalle pasta but you can use any pasta or spaghetti of your choice. Pasta should be cooked Al dente so that they don’t get over cooked while preparing the dish.
- Cheese: Parmesan cheese is preferred but feel free to use any other.
- Parsley: fresh parsley is recommended, but you can also opt for a smaller portion of the dry alternative or replace with any other herb like celery or basil.
- Crushed black pepper: or dried red chillies, for garnish.

Ingredients for Butter Fried Garlic Pasta
250 grams farfalle pasta
2 tablespoon butter/ olive oil
10 cloves garlic
1/2 cup parsley chopped fine
1/4 cup cream
1/2 cup cheese grated
Salt
Freshly cracked pepper / chilli flakes
Directions for Butter Fried Garlic Pasta
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil then add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions. Strain and set aside.
- Add butter/olive to a pan. Heat butter / olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the garlic cloves and let sizzle and cook for 2-3 minutes, careful not to burn it.
- Pound the garlic in mortar and pastel, and set aside.
- In the same, add the pasta, garlic, parsley and toss
- Add cream, cheese and mix.
- Add salt and crack pepper and toss well.
- Serve!
