Shahi Tukda is a delicious dessert made with bread and thickened milk. This is a popular sweet dish of Mughal cuisine. As the name suggests this is truly a Shahi or royal dish.
Shahi Tukda can be easily made at home without much effort. This extra ordinary sweet dish is made with very common ingredients easily found in every pantry. All you require is bread, milk, sugar, saffron, cardamom and few nuts.
Traditionally Shahi tukda is made by frying bread in ghee. As bread absorbs a lot of fat I prefer to toast or Air Fry the bread. In this way I am able to cut down the fat without compromising on the taste.
