Bhel Puri is made from puffed rice. It is a healthy and quick snack and also a popular street food in India. Ingredients are a combination of Kurmura (puffed rice), Puri and Nylon Sev (which are savory thin crunchy noodles made of chickpea flour). Sev is mixed in the bhel itself as well as used for garnishing. along with tomato, potato and onion. Apart from this you can add various other ingredients in bhel like roasted peanuts, paapdi (thin crunchy wafers) etc. for more taste & crunchiness.
Three different type of Chutneys are used to make Bhel chatpatta and lip smacking. These chutneys are tamarind chutney, garlic chutney and and green coriander chutney which bind the ingredients together and lends the characteristic sweet & spicy taste to the bhel. The recipe link of these chutneys are mentioned in the ingredient section.
Bhelpuri is a quick & easy snack to prepare at home and is also served over road side stalls. Bhel puri became famous with the city of Mumbai and is a dominant snack on the beaches of Mumbai, such as Chowpati and Juhu.
