Homemade Sun Dried Tomatoes (Oven Dried Tomatoes) is easy to make at home. With just few ingredients you can make these tangy and versatile dried tomatoes. Sun Dried tomatoes are great for adding to any savory dish like pizza, pasta and marinade. They can be added to dips also to add that extra flavor.
The process is very simple. Just slice or quarter the tomatoes, drizzle oil and place in a preheated Oven.

Ingredients for Sun Dried Tomatoes
500 grams ripe tomatoes
1 teaspoon mixed herbs
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1 tablespoon olive oil
¼ cup olive oil
Directions for Sun Dried Tomatoes
- Wash and wipe the tomatoes.
- Cut them into ½ inch thick slices or in 4 wedges.
- In a bowl; mix together 1 tablespoon oil, herbs, salt and garlic.
- Grease a baking tray or line with parchment paper.
- Arrange the tomatoes in a single layer, brush with the oil mix.
- Bake in a preheated oven at a very low temperature.
- Turn the sides once or twice as it will take a long time to dry on low temperature.
- When they are wrinkled and almost dry take out from the oven.
- When at room temperature transfer in a clean jar and pour enough oil to cover them.
- Keep refrigerated and use as required.
