Instant Oats Dosa is a delicious dosa recipe for a quick breakfast dish. This light and nutritious dish is high on fibre. Oats is a perfect food to start your day as it has loads of health benefits. So here is an easy way to include more oats in your diet.
For making this crisp dosa I have used oats, rice flour and rava (semolina) along with spices and coriander leaves. There is no soaking, grinding required for this dosa. Serve with coconut chutney or any other chutney of your choice and enjoy.

Ingredients For Instant Oats Dosa
½ cup oats
¼ cup rava / rawa (semolina)
¼ cup rice flour
½ cup sour curd / buttermilk
1 teaspoon jeera (cummin)
1 teaspoon peppercorns
2 tablespoon coriander chopped fine
1 teaspoon green chilies chopped fine
½ cup onions chopped fine
1 teaspoon ginger chopped fine
1 tablespoon curry leaves chopped fine
2 tablespoon carrot grated (optional)
Salt to taste
Oil to pan fry
1½ to 2 cups water
Directions For Instant Oats Dosa
- In a pan add the oats, jeera, pepper and dry roast on medium heat till oats start to change colour. Let it cool and then grind to a coarse powder.
- In a bowl add oats, rawa (semolina), rice flour and mix.
- Now add rest of the ingredients except onions and oil. Add water to make thin batter just like rava dosa. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Heat a skillet or nonstick tava on high heat and then drizzle a few drops of oil.
- Now sprinkle few pieces of onions and pour a ladle full of dosa batter starting from outside towards center of tawa (as done for rava dosa) . Do not try to spread with the ladle as you do for normal dosa.
- Smear a few drops of oil around the dosa and let it cook till golden. Flip and cook till crisp.
- Serve hot dosa with chutney and sambhar.
