Mango Lassi (Mango Yogurt Drink) is a popular drink in India especially during summer. This soothing cold drink is best made with fresh mangoes. If you cannot get fresh mangoes, do not hesitate to use canned puree. I have used Sinduri mangoes for the lassi and Alfonzo for the garnish. Always use ripe and juicy mangoes and thick dahi to get that perfect thick and smooth Lassi.
Mango Lassi (Mango Yogurt Drink) is a very easy drink that can be put together in few minutes with very basic ingredient found in most of the pantries. All though this one is my favourite flavor but I never refuse any other flavors like the Kesar, Gulab, Strawberry lassi or the plain elaichi one.

Ingredients For Mango Lassi
1½ to 2 cups mangoes cubed
1 cup dahi (yogurt)
3 to 4 tablespoon sugar
A pinch of elaichi powder (cardamom)
Few strands of kesar (saffron) (optional)
1 teaspoon pista chopped fine (optional)
Crushed ice as desired
Directions For Mango Lassi
- Keep 2 tablespoon of chopped mangoes aside for garnishing.
- In a blender puree rest of the mangoes and sugar.
- Add dahi, cardamom, ice and blend.
- Pour in 2 glasses, top with chopped mangoes.
- Sprinkle pista and saffron.
Note: Check the sweetness of the mangoes and adjust the sugar accordingly. For best taste and flavor use fresh mango pulp although canned mango pulp can be used. If you like your lassi to be of a thinner consistency then you can add milk to get the desired consistency.
