Bok Choy and Tofu Stir Fry is a simple yet delicious dish. This flavorful dish can be made with few ingredients and very quickly. I have marinated the tofu so that it absorbs flavors well. Pan frying the tofu makes it crisp from outside and soft from inside.
Bok Choy is also known as pak choi. This leafy-green Chinese vegetable belongs to the cabbage family. It is best suited to brief stir-frying or steaming to keep its mild flavor. It is also recommended that the leafy portion be cooked separately from the stems as the leaves cook much more quickly.

Ingredients For Bok Choy And Tofu Stir Fry
250 grams tender bok choy
1 onion cubed
1 tablespoon ginger chopped fine
1 tablespoon garlic chopped fine
1 tablespoon spring onion greens chopped
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon sesame oil
For the Marinade
200 grams tofu
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon red chilli paste recipe here
1 tablespoon corn starch
A pinch of salt
For the sauce
½ cup vegetable stock recipe here
2 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon red chilli paste
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice/vinegar
2 tablespoon corn starch
Directions For Bok Choy And Tofu Stir Fry
Marinade
- Cut the tofu in bite size pieces.
- Mix soy, vinegar, red chilli paste and salt together.
- Pour the mix on the tofu.
- Sprinkle corn flour and stir gently to coat the tofu evenly.
- Set aside for 15 minutes.
How to Proceed
- Whisk together all the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl and set aside.
- Separate the leaves of bok choy. Cut the stem diagonally and leaves into 2; set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan; and transfer the marinated tofu in a layer. Stir fry by turning so as to fry on all the sides. Set aside.
- In the same pan add onion, ginger, garlic and saute on high heat for 2 minutes.
- Add the bok choy stem and saute for a minute.
- Add the leaves and saute till it wilts.
- Now pour in the sauce and mix.
- Add tofu and toss for 2 minutes.
- Garnish with the spring onion greens and serve with rice.
