Bread Pulao (Bread Upma) is very easy to make. This is a healthy and tasty option for breakfast. All you need is bread, onions and a few spices to prepare this delicious dish. It is a good twist to the simple bread we use daily for breakfast. Bread pulao can also be eaten for evening snack.

Ingredients for Bread Pulao
10 slices of bread
1 cup onion chopped
½ cup tomato chopped
½ cup capsicum chopped
1 green chilli slit into 2
2 tablespoon coriander chopped
1 teaspoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon chilli powder
½ jeera powder
Pinch of haldi (turmeric)
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
½ teaspoon cumin (jeera)
1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
Salt to taste
2 tablespoon oil
Directions for Bread Pulao
- Cut each bread slice into 9 or 12 pieces. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan; add mustard, cumin and let them crackle.
- Add the chilli, onions, capsicum and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes and saute till soft.
- Add chilli powder, haldi, jeera powder and saute .
- Now add salt, coriander and tomato ketchup and toss.
- Now add the bread pieces and mix well.
- Saute for 2 to 3 minutes till all the bread pieces are coated.
- Serve
